For the past few weeks we learned all about portraits. We learned which way the light should go to illuminate a certain area of the face. We learned about a defused light, which makes the light a little less stronger. We learned how to hold up a circle cutout to reflect the light onto half of someones face, keeping one side darker than the other. I did this in the first picture. I wanted half of his face completely dark while one half is highlighted, and illuminated by the deflector. The last photo has a light behind him and a defused light. It gives an effect that there is a light coming from behind him.
